Ukrainian lawmakers passed a law on July 31 that banned the use of vaping and electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) in public places, as well as e-cigarette advertising, sponsorship and promotion. More seriously still, the law also prohibits the sale of flavored e-liquids other than tobacco flavorings. A real sign sent to the rest of Europe in terms of strict regulations.
Justifying their action, the parliamentarians referred to a recent report from the World Health Organization, which suggests that vaping is a gateway to smoking and that they are as harmful as conventional cigarettes. Lawmakers also claimed that the aroma ban would reduce underage vaping in Ukraine.
