FRANCE: TOBACCO MAKES MORE 500 VICTIMS A YEAR AT MEETING


The report of the Regional Health Observatory, dated 2011, reports more than 560 annual deaths related to tobacco. This mortality, according to the same report, is borne by three main causes: ischemic heart disease (58%), cancers of the larynx, trachea, bronchi and lungs (28%), chronic bronchitis and obstructive pulmonary diseases (14% ). These 3 causes resulted in, on average, 563 deaths per year on the island between 2006 and 2008. (See article)
