Starting from the observation that nicotine used in France in e-liquid“, These liquids heated in the tank of the e-cigarette, came mainly from China or India, Vincent Cuisset, founder of VDLV and Charly Pairaud its deputy director, have decided to embark on an entirely French production. These two former Air Liquide engineers, ex-smokers passionate about "vaping", are preparing to market in early 2016 liquid nicotine extracted from tobacco leaves "without toxic solvents, by water vapor". A process which required nearly two years of work, and which was supported by the Aquitaine Regional Council to the tune of $105.000.

The two associates recall that nicotine is " one of the few non-toxic products in cigarettes And that it is its addictive properties that are problematic, since cigarette smoke is loaded with carbon monoxide, tars and fine particles. The vapoteur can adjust his nicotine level according to his needs.
To produce this nicotine, VDLV ultimately intends to rely on French tobacco production. Being by nature less loaded with nicotine, this tobacco will however require an "adaptation". " The Regional Council supported our project to relaunch the dynamics of tobacco production“, Explains Charly Pairaud. VDLV employs around fifty people and achieved a turnover of 4,9 million.
According to Xerfi, the “e-liquids” market in France represented 265 million in 2014, against 130 million euros for e-cigarettes. Tobacco is responsible for the premature death of 73.000 people each year in France.
The 2015 edition of Vapexpo, which will take place from September 21 to 23 in the large Halle de La Villette, will welcome more than 210 exhibitors, 53% of whom are foreigners. Nearly 7.000 visitors are expected.
