Namur - Belgium : A policeman saved by his electronic cigarette!
On Saturday night, a policeman was shot and wounded during a family dispute in Waha, in the commune of Marche-en-Famenne. The policeman was only slightly injured. As for the shooter, he was deprived of liberty. He was around 19h50 on Saturday night, when the Famenne-Ardenne zone police was called for a family dispute in Waha. At the arrival of the police, the occupant of the scene fired a shot, wounding a police officer, before fleeing across the fields, tells us Commissioner Jean-Marie Claes, federal police. The shooter would be a well-known 45 man of the police department.
Special services of the federal police intervened on the spot, while a helicopter squared the area to find the suspect. He was finally arrested two hours later and deprived of his freedom. The weapons that were in the shooter's home were seized. The injured policeman was very lucky: the bullet was deflected by an electronic cigarette that was in his pocket. We do not deplore other wounded.
