THREE DEMANTELE CONTRABAND ORGANIZATIONS IN CHINA!

Customs in Zhejiang Province of China have arrested 27 suspects involved in a smuggling case of electronic cigarettes worth more than 400 million yuan ($ 58,4 million). According to Ningbo City Customs, more than 470.000 refills were confiscated during an operation. 30.000 refills and 500 atomizers were also seized, and three international smuggling organizations were dismantled.

A suspect named Li confessed that his accomplice bought e-cigarettes in Japan and smuggled them into China in the form of international packages. Li had thus spent more than 100.000 recharges until his arrest.

Investigators also discovered nearly 300 smugglers of the same type as Li, with a cumulative amount of more than 400.000 refills. The law prohibits the sale of electronic cigarettes in China, but the smugglers have used online platforms and instant messaging apps and sold them masquerading as other products.
