This is a very serious accusation that could well make noise! The tobacco giant Philip Morris is accused of trafficking cigarettes. It is even the subject of a complaint in the United States. According to the complainant, the sign itself supplies the black market in France.
PHILIP MORRIS ACCUSES OF POWERING THE BLACK MARKET!
This is not the first time that the tobacco giants have been accused of fueling cigarette trafficking themselves, but there is still a lack of evidence. But this time the accusation is serious, because it is an external collaborator of Philip Morris who filed this complaint in New York.
In a document, we learn that it is the tobacco giant Philip Morris himself who supplies the French black market. That is, there is no or very little shadow factory, illegal, hidden somewhere to produce counterfeit cigarettes. Contraband cigarettes, they are produced in the factories of the largest tobacco companies and they curiously disappear at one point or another in the production chain.
Raoul Setrouk who runs a research company in Geneva and who worked for 20 years with Philip Morris on the fight against the parallel tobacco trade accuses the giant of having stolen his know-how. In his 19-page complaint, he details the operating system of Philip Morris: he tells about spyware to listen to cell phones and it is in these documents that we understand how Philip Morris would flood the French market with illegal cigarettes.
This was already the subject of a question to the government, at the end of November, to François-Michel Lambert, deputy of Bouches-du-Rhône. Contacted by RMC, he assured that on January 4, to file his complaint. American justice has until January 4 to decide whether or not to prosecute Philip Morris.
