Un nouveau vaccin contre la nicotine pourrait aider les fumeurs à arrêter de fumer.
Des scientifiques ont développé un vaccin qui pourrait être utilisé par les fumeurs pour renoncer à la nicotine selon un rapport du The Economic Times:
Les scientifiques ont conçu un nouveau vaccin contre la nicotine efficace, qui, à priori, pourrait aider les fumeurs et même des toxicomanes à cesser de fumer.
« Cette étude fournit un nouvel espoir dans le sens que l’on pourrait créer un vaccin contre la nicotine, qui réussirait apparemment dans des essais cliniques », a déclaré Kim Janda de The Scripps Research Institute.
Le vaccin contre la nicotine, une fois dans le corps pourrait voir la nicotine comme un envahisseur étranger. Pour créer cette réponse immunitaire, les scientifiques ont essayé de fixer un dérivé de nicotine appelé « haptènes », à une plus grande protéine porteuse utilisée dans d’autres vaccins agréés.
When a person smokes a cigarette or other product containing nicotine, the anti-nicotinic antibodies are said to prevent the nicotine molecules from entering the central nervous system so that they never reach the brain. While a vaccine isn't a quick fix - there would still be withdrawal symptoms - a person might be less encouraged to relapse since their brain's reward system could no longer respond to nicotine, the researchers said.
The electronic cigarette would still have a long life in the cessation of tobacco, because the fact of neutralizing the nicotine will not make you forget the gesture, will not eliminate the addiction to all other tobacco products etc ...
