In terms of vaping regulations, Australia has stood out for several years by offering a very restrictive or even often prohibitive framework. And that doesn't seem to want to change! Indeed, from July 1, 2020, the importation of vaping products containing nicotine into the country will be prohibited.

AN EVEN MORE PROHIBITIVE APPROACH TO THE E-CIGARETTE!
The e-cigarette is clearly not welcome in Australia! If in the land of kangaroos, health authorities have long been concerned about e-liquids containing nicotine and their regulations that surround them, it is a fairly clear decision that has just been taken.
From July 1, 2020, the importation of vaping products containing nicotine will be banned in Australia. The Federal Minister of Health, Greg Hunt said it is pushing the health ministry to work with border forces on a new approach to e-cigarettes. This new regulation will be managed by the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
The reaction of associations promoting vaping and risk reduction around the world was not long in coming. Nancy Loucas, Co -Founder and Co-Director of the New Zealand Vaping Consumer Advocacy Organization said: « AVCA supports vapers across the country and joins organizations such as ATHRA, PPHA, AVA and LVA to speak out against the senseless crackdown by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)«
From the date of the import ban passed, there is only one possibility to obtain an e-liquid with nicotine: you will need a doctor's prescription. This is terrible news for vaping and tobacco control in Australia ...
