E-cigarettes are now banned in public places in Surrey, BC, city council said Monday.
They are now subject to the same regulations as tobacco cigarettes. For example, fans of artificial smoke can no longer light their device unless 7,5 m from a bus stop, said the elected officials of the city.
« We have received a significant number of complaints, says Councilor Tom Gill to explain the measure. It has become a huge problem ».
The municipality joins Vancouver, which in October 2014 banned vaping from public places and the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors. British Columbia applied the same regulation in the province in September 2016.
