KUALA LUMPUR - " The e-cigarette will be banned once all legal aspects have been taken into account“, Said the Minister of Health Datuk Seri S Subramaniam.
« Once we have this sorted out, we will make the necessary arrangements in the most appropriate way in order to have the power to do so. He told reporters Wednesday in the parliament hall.
Le Dr. Subramaniam says the ministry is working quickly on legislation because “vaping” has now become a major issue.
In August, the health ministry recommended a temporary halt to shisha and e-cigarettes until the risk findings were announced (see our article). It seems that today the direction chosen by Malaysia is taken.
Le Dr. Subramaniam said his ministry was in discussions with various organizations to get their opinions on the effects of e-cigarettes on health.
