STUDY: Long-term e-cigarette use does not damage the lungs.

A few days ago, the Lega Italiana Anti Fumo (LIAF) convention took place in Italy for the year 2017. During this “Anti-Tobacco” convention, Prof. Riccardo Polosa, from the University of Catania presented a long-term study of the effects of vaping on the lungs.

This first study on long-term vaping was expected and it is finally here! It was during the convention Lega Italiana Anti Fumo (LIAF) which took place at the Faculty of Medicine in Catania (Italy) that the research led by the Professor Riccardo Polosa which shows  » That regular long-term vaping use did not lead to any damage to the airways and lungs"

The study was presented in the presence of Giovanni La Via, President of the Health Commission of the European Parliament, Lorenzo Spizzichino, the Prevention Directorate at the Italian Ministry of Health, Pr Umberto Tirelli, the National Cancer Institute of Aviano, the Dr. Fabio Beatrice, Turin hospital, Pr Lamberto Manzoli, the University of Ferrara and Mario Girolamo Cardella, president of the national consumers Union Sicily.

According to the Italian newspaper " The morning«  : " Participants used the e-cigarette daily for at least four years with an average consumption of 3,1 ml of liquid per day. The study did not find any change in lung function or airway inflammatory markers during the observation period and compared to baseline values ​​measured 4 years earlier.«
