UNITED KINGDOM: MP warns against e-cigarette use

In the UK, an MP speaking in Westminster warned of the use of "nicotine chemicals" in electronic cigarettes. In his opinion, promoting vaping would be a mistake.

VAPING IS NOT UNANIMOUS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM!

Contrary to what one might think vaping is not unanimous in the United Kingdom. Speaking in Westminster, Gregory Campbell, the member for East Derry suggested that it would be extremely difficult to reach the hard core of smokers and motivate them to quit smoking.

According to him "  It is difficult to make inroads to fight against smoking while the number of smokers has fallen below the 20% mark "Adding" While a third of smokers still haven't switched to vaping, the problem remains with a hard core on which more work is needed  »

Gregory Campbell also said it would be a mistake for central, regional and local governments to promote the consumption of nicotine chemicals.

According to the Conservative MP Gareth Johnson just before MP Campbell " If studies are correct, vaping could save thousands of lives in the UK and had to be examined "very carefully".  »

In response to MP Campbell, Gareth Johnson said: " Ultimately, if people want to smoke, are aware of the risks, and are happy to take them, it is entirely their right as adults. I'm not trying to dictate how people should lead their lives. However, in my experience, most smokers want to quit but find it very difficult. This is why we should see the potential of vaping as an important tool for people to give up. «
