A few days ago, the Alaska Senate unanimously approved a bill to ban e-cigarettes for people under the age of 19.
PROHIBITION OF POSSESSION, SALE AND EXCHANGE!
In the state of Alaska in the United States, Bill SB 15, sponsored by the sGary Stevens (R-Kodiak), prohibits the possession, sale and trade of electronic cigarettes for persons under the age of 19. The ban includes all e-liquids regardless of the level of nicotine they contain.
« These products are often marketed as a way to reduce tobacco consumption or provide an alternative to the dangers of tobacco“Said Senator Stevens. " These untested products can, however, be bad for our body. »
Possession or sale of products containing tobacco or nicotine was already prohibited for persons under the age of 19. This bill therefore extends the ban to electronic cigarettes.
« It is clear that vaping like smoking poses a question of habit“Said Sen. Stevens. " By continuing not to act against this new trend, we are sending the message to our young people that these products are safe, which is not the case."
Bill SB 15 is now on its way to the Alaska House of Representatives for consideration.
