The Health Bill, which had sparked heated debate last week, was adopted at second reading on Tuesday by the National Assembly.
It has been approved by 296 voice (socialists, a majority of left-wing radicals and environmentalists) against 243 (The Republicans, UDI, most of the Left Front) and 16 abstentions. The vote was a little smaller than at first reading in April (311 for, 241 against, 10 abstentions).
Among the main measures of the text, the much contested third party payment, the adoption of the neutral package from May 2016 as well as the measures for the strict control of advertising concerning the e-cigarette.
