The initiative obviously comes from the United Kingdom where elected officials will now offer e-cigarettes to pregnant women. A real health and social campaign that deserves to be disseminated more widely.
E-CIGARETTES FOR PREGNANT WOMEN!
UK local politicians want to help mothers-to-be quit smoking. In this perspective, the Lambeth London Borough Council, a city council in south London (United Kingdom), has decided to offer e-cigarettes to pregnant women.
The objective is to encourage these future mothers to stop smoking, but also to allow them to save a large sum of money, approximately $2.300 (£2.000).
A London elected official recalled the health risks associated with smoking during pregnancy, which largely motivated this decision. Moreover, according to the Lambeth London Borough Council, low-income women are more likely to smoke when pregnant. However, the neighborhood concerned has thousands of households living below the poverty line.
