THAILAND: For ASH, electronic cigarettes are dangerous for health.

While in Thailand the vaping situation is complicated, ASH Thailand (Action Foundation on Smoking and Health) insists that electronic cigarettes are harmful to health.

ASH THAILAND SECRETARY OPPOSES POSITIVE VAPING STUDIES

It's the Dr. Prakit Vathesatogkit, executive secretary of ASH Thailand who recently attacked electronic cigarettes by claiming that they would be dangerous for health.

ASH Thailand's executive secretary reportedly reacted to a publication of Mr Maris KarunyawatAn ardent defender of the vape who, on his Facebook page, presented the benefits of the vape and encouraged smokers to go the extra mile by citing scientific studies and presenting the electronic cigarette as 95% safer than smoking.

But according to Dr. Prakit Vathesatogkit the studies are bogus and not even recognized by American scientists. He also states that despite the lack of combustion in the electronic cigarette, the vapor remains harmful to lung tissue and blood vessels. For him, the vapor produced by e-cigarettes contains more than 250 harmful chemicals, 70 of which can cause cancer.

According to Dr. Prakit Vathesatogkit, to say that vaping is safer than smoking remains today without scientific basis. With such talk, it is still difficult to imagine an improvement on the condition of vaping in Thailand.
