THAILAND: A debate to demand the recognition of the electronic cigarette.

Arrests, bans ... It's no longer a secret, Thailand is not really a welcoming country with vapers. However, things are moving and the issue of electronic cigarettes continues to be the subject of debate in Thailand, in a context of a legal ban on their importation and possession.

VAPOTEURS WANT A RECOGNITION OF THE ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE

Academics and users of e-cigarettes recently participated in a seminar to discuss this issue.

The debate was organized in particular to try to find an answer to the question whether they should be supported as an alternative approach, in order to discourage the use of tobacco products. The participants in the debate agreed that the Government should make electronic cigarettes a formal alternative for smokers, as they are less dangerous for health and less polluting.

The debate also called for recognition by the Thai Government of the legal right to choose less harmful tobacco products.

In addition, participants discussed the proposal to include e-cigarettes in the country's customs system to prevent smuggling.

Similarly, it has been suggested that measures be put in place to control the purchase and use of electronic cigarettes among young smokers and to carry out a study on the advantages and disadvantages of these devices, reported NNT.
