THAILAND: Another raid against e-cigarettes, 18 people arrested in Bangkok.

In Thailand, the hunt for products of the vape does not seem to calm down! While a new movement is trying to pressure the government for a revision of the laws on the electronic cigarette, the police have increased their actions against the sale of these products still illegal in Thailand.

A WAVE OF ARRESTS FOR THE SALE OF E-CIGARETTES

Sixteen Thais and two Burmese were arrested in Bangkok for selling e-cigarettes, flasks of liquids and narghiles. Surachate Hakparn, in his capacity as deputy head of the Action Group to Fight Computer Crime, told reporters that these arrests had been carried out in several night markets of the capital on Sunday 3 march.

21 stalls selling electronic cigarettes and hookahs were registered and no less than 18 people were arrested. During this operation, the police seized 81 electronic cigarettes, 1 127 vials of liquids, 777 hookahs and other prohibited items.

This new operation follows a raid on 28 last February on the Klong Thom market, in which three Thais and two Laotians were arrested for selling the same type of items.

The authorities took the opportunity to remind tourists and Thais that electronic cigarettes remained illegal and that the penalties could be particularly severe. The law provides for penalties of up to five in prison and / or 500 000 bahts (about 13 900 euros) fine for sellers and users.
